Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) – Regional Networking Meetings for National Designated Entities – Small Island Developing States, Barbados, October 28-30
The Climate Technology Center and Network (CTCN)[1] is the operational arm of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)’s Technology Mechanism and is hosted by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and with the support of 11 independent organizations with expertise in climate technologies. The CTCN’s mission is to assist developing countries in deploying technologies (including any equipment, techniques, practical knowledge and skills) that can be used to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to climate change impacts. In line with the decisions of the Conference of Parties (COP) of UNFCCC, each Party shall nominate a focal point for the CTCN, named National Designated Entity (NDE).
