October 22, 2019, United Nations Headquarters, New York, U.S.A.: Shari Lewis, a Partner at the Uniondale, New York, law firm, Rivkin Radler, LLP, was one of the first SIDS DOCK Partners to reach out to the Bahamas, after Hurricane Dorian caused massive destruction and loss of lives, in September 2019. Ms. Lewis presented a donation from Rivkin Radler, LLP, Ullman, Shapiro, Ullman of Counsel, to Her Excellency Ms. Shelia Carey, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas to the United Nations (UN) at the fifth session of the SIDS DOCK Assembly, held on 28 September 2019, at the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Chamber, on the sidelines of the seventy-fourth (74th) UN General Assembly, at UN Headquarters, in New York City. Ambassador Carey said that fifty-nine (59) lives were lost and 600 are still reported missing. She announced that the Bahamas has designated bank accounts in several denominations, to receive monetary donations.
